This winery has a solid following amongst a number of people I respect.
When the boys at Vaucluse Cellars, a wine shop boasting one of Sydney’s better Chardonnay fridges, recommended this wine I was obliged.

Upon their advice I wasn’t compelled to drink it immediately, so I’m pretty sure this isn’t current release.
Pale yellow to the rim, this wine looks alive. The nose reminds me of French Chardonnay - minerality rather than raw fruit. Not relying on oak. A hint of mealiness, which I’m liking more and more in Chardonnay.

The minerality follows through to the palate, sharing space with the faintest hint of fruit sweetness and a linear acid backbone. A wine with plenty of kick left in it. Balanced and fine, a class act!
